Our Story
3Ts Farms is a small family farm in Lincolnton, GA founded by retired Army Command Sergeant Major, Iteago Felton who is very passionate about his work. Iteago Felton, otherwise known as “Farmer Tea”, is not messing around when it comes to building a good-food legacy. On his daughter’s 16th birthday, he gifted her the title of CEO of 3Ts Farms, LLC in Lincolnton, GA. “That’s how serious I am about this,” he said. "In the Bible, it talks about how farmers were expected to give 10% of their crops to the church in order to help feed the community. I’m about to start doing the same here,” he said. “I’ve got an inspiration to try to pull youth into all of this … helping them get their own farms started someday.”
Iteago Felton, a native of Georgia, is a retired Army Medic and a Paratrooper who served 32 years in the Army. Iteago decided to start his own farm initially with only pigs when he retired. However, he has a whole lot already going on at 3Ts Farms with livestock that consists of goats, turkeys, chickens, guinea hens, rabbits, a donkey (the protector of the farm "Jacks"), a pond stocked with fish and a wide variety of heritage breed hogs. Iteago credits Jon Jackson of STAG VETS and Comfort Farms as a mentor and a friend. He also credits his knowledge of the livestock business to Donald Palmer of Happy Valley, the local meat processing business in Dearing, GA, where he volunteered weekly over two years ago.
Iteago purchased his 25-acre lot in Lincolnton, GA while he was on active duty at Fort Gordon, GA from 2005-2008. He knew upon his retirement out of the Army, farming was his next chapter. Upon his retirement in 2015, after 32 years, he transitioned from the military and decided to work for himself. He was aware that coping with severe PTSD and anxiety around other people was going to be extremely hard but, farming and being with animals would give him another outlook on his purpose and save his life. Iteago understood that the animals would listen to all of his problems and not cast any judgment, regardless of the situation. This therapy is exactly what Iteago needed to put things back into perspective. Iteago loves farming. His day starts at about 6:00 am every day. Iteago has to arise early every morning regardless of the weather or events to check on his animals because they depend on him. Iteago's initiatives for 3Ts Farms is to start a mentorship program called "Boys to Men." This program will teach young men all the facets of farming so that one day they can become farmers. He also will open up his farm to Veterans, so that they can spend time with the animals to assist with their healing process. Additionally, Iteago, his wife Felicia, a retired Army Command Sergeant Major, and their daughter Anteaona (CEO) have plans to add vegetable gardens, a greenhouse and a storehouse front to their farm within the next year.
